ABOUT ME
Art . . . one of the few things that connect all of us but also one of the few things that make us all different. How we see it, what it does, and the emotion it can bring out. I believe we are all artists in our own way. We might not all be able to draw or paint or sculpt but we all have something in us that shows artistic ability. The understanding of color, ones who can envision layouts or room design, the storytellers, the cooks, the organized, the problem solvers, the visionaries, the writers, the woodworkers, the teachers, and the list goes on. We all have something, you just need to find it, understand it, and focus on it.
Personally, one of my biggest influencers has been Picasso. Not so much because of his art(Although, I love everything he ever did) but because of his words. One of my favorite quotes from him: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
My artistic journey began as a very young child. I was always obsessed with color and creating. I am fortunate that I was I was born into a family of artists. My parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins have extensive art backgrounds ranging from drawing, painting, photography, design, sculpting, and more.
I make my art to bring happiness and to help people get lost in the details...if only for a minute or two.
"My mother said to me, 'If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.' Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso."
- Pablo Picasso
ARTIST STATEMENT
My subject matter is life; the love, the pain, the goodbyes, the serenity, the captured moments, and all the things that bring me peace. Art is my escape, it's my love. I create things people want to stare at and can't look away from, things they can't ignore. I always want the bigger picture to be all about the details.
Please enjoy!
